A human engineer resided on the jungle planet Akiva in the Outer Rim Territories with her son during the Imperial Era. Her son eventually passed away, and following his death, the boy's MSE series maintenance droid, Pip-Squeak, stopped turning on. In 3 ABY, the engineer traveled to the Akivan city Myrra hoping to get Pip-Squeak repaired by the Rodian droidsmith known as "the Toymaker," who had originally gifted the droid.
