Aleena–Kindalo war

In the early days of the Galactic Republic, a destructive war was waged between the Aleena and Kindalo species, the two sentient species living on the Mid Rim planet Aleen. The war was waged with technological weapons, decimating both species. At one point, the Aleena and Kindalo agreed to a treaty that left the Aleena on the surface, and the Kindalo in the underworld. The Great Seal was created to divide the two species.

Over time, the Aleena remembered the war only through oral recollections and complex pictograms that adorned stone statues built by the Aleena around their settlements.
