The ambush on Janix's moon was a raid that was launched by the former Sith Lord Maul and his lieutenant, the Mandalorian Rook Kast, on the Pyke Syndicate's shipment sent to the Janix's star system. After Kast questioned the Aleena crime lord Looti Vario on the location of the Pyke's shipment, Spybot smuggled himself into the Pyke cruiser, sabotaging the hyperdrive and forcing it to land on Janix's nearby moon. Upon landing on the moon, Maul infiltrated the starship, entering through the cargo lift. He killed the Pyke captain and all of his forces, while Kast and her Mandalorian super commando mercenaries stole all the credits.
