Near the end of the Great Galactic War between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, the Sith Lord Darth Azamin—a member of the Empire's ruling Dark Council—was assassinated by a strike team of Jedi. The operation was actually arranged by the Sith Lord Darth Decimus with the help of the Dark Councilor Darth Vowrawn, and with his death Darth Azamin was replaced as head of the Sphere of Military Strategy by Decimus.
