During the Cold War, a skirmish between the forces of the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire occurred above the planet of Javaal. The skirmish was the result of imperial ships ambushing a Republic patrol group. The Imperials were led by the Sith Lord Kestas Rone, callsign "Bloodletter", who commanded the deadly Razor Shyracks squadron. The skirmish was resolved when pilots of the Coruscant Aegis squadron came to the aid of the patrol group and destroyed the Imperial attackers, including the Shyracks. The remainder of the Imperial fleet was also heavily damaged.
