Between 19 BBY and 5 BBY, the former Sith Lord Maul, now turned crime lord, undertook a mission to Damanos in the Outer Rim Territories to search for Sith secrets that could provide him with knowledge. Maul discovered a Sith castle on the ash-gray planet, where he encountered visions of surprisingly familiar faces, such as the rogue Sith Lord Savage Opress, Kaleesh cyborg General Grievous, and Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn.
