Republic assault on Virujansi

The Republic assault on Virujansi was a confrontation that took place in 17,018 BBY on the Inner Rim planet Virujansi. It became one of the earliest battles of the Alsakan Conflicts, a fourteen-millennia-long series of wars over political control of the Galactic Republic between its capital world Coruscant, the planet Alsakan, and their respective allies. The latter included the Grand Companies, which were Coruscant-backed trading conglomerates based along the hyperlane known as the Spin.

The assault on Virujansi, which was situated in the region actively controlled by the Grand Companies and along one of the hyperspace routes that were either contested or neutral in the conflict, by the Coruscant-controlled Republic forces constituted a part of the first of the Alsakan Conflicts, which began around the same year. Six years later, Alsakani forces liberated the planet, and the First Conflict lasted for three more centuries.
