Selonian worker scandal

Canon Linked from 3 articles

The Selonian worker scandal was a political scandal pertaining to laborers of the Selonian species, otter-like sentient bipedals from the planet Selonia in the Core Worlds. The scandal rocked the Galactic Republic sometime between 40 BBY and 32 BBY, during the chancellorship of Finis Valorum, and immediately preceding the blockade of Naboo, a planet in the Mid Rim Territories. The controversy dominated the attention of the Galactic Senate, pushing aside other discussions such as the plight of the Alvadorjians of the planet Ylagia.

In 19 BBY, Senator Mon Mothma recalled how the scale of the misconduct affected the proceedings of the Senate, including the shelving of a bill she had co-sponsored to address the Alvadorjian issue.
