During the initial development of the Clawdite species, the planet Zolan suffered a spike in solar activity, resulting in it being bathed in radiation. This resulted in a large amount of the world's creatures either going extinct or developing biological traits to combat the radiation such as the Clawdite's and monzu's shape-shifting abilities.
