The Iska sector was a sector of the Mid Rim Territories that contained the Hendrix and Threfal systems in grid square J-16 of the Standard Galactic Grid. In grid square K-17 it contained the Iska system and in grid square J-17 it contained the area of space known as Ravager's Rift, both of which also fell within the Western Reaches.
The Iska sector and Iska system shared their name with the Iska pirates, a criminal group that Admiral Terrinald Screed of the Imperial Navy had driven from Fanha and defeated at Tosste by 4 BBY. In 5 ABY, Admiral Ho'ror'te of the New Republic's military began a mission to gather unaligned allies deep into the Ravager's Rift to reinforce six New Republic fleets led by Admiral Gial Ackbar, which were preparing to rapidly relocate from deployment along the Corellian Trade Spine into the Western Reaches.
