The Yout system was located in the Qiilura sector, a part of the New Territories portion of the Mid Rim. It was situated on the Entralla Route hyperlane between the Qiilura system and the Vvan system of the Tyan sector and contained the moon Yout 12, also known as the twelfth moon of Yout.
By 22 BBY, the droid assassin KRONOS-327 carried out an unsuccessful elimination attempt on a Vigo of the Black Sun criminal organization on Yout 12 on behalf of the Vigo's rival, the crime lord Ziro Desilijic Tiure. During the Clone Wars, the Yout system was located in the territory of the Galactic Republic, while between 12 ABY and 13 ABY it lay within the borders of the New Republic.
