Amethyst was a type of crystal. It was found on the planet Metagos, where buildings in the wealthier areas of the city New Xaxxis, including homes and utility structures, were crafted from a mix of amethyst, quartz, and selenite. Jedi Master Mace Windu's lightsaber had a distinctive amethyst blade. The crystal shared its name with "Amethyst Apprentice" and "Amethyst Saber Pattern," a costume and weapon respectively, which were used by the Grand Arena Hunter Rieve in 9 ABY.
