Ghorman silk was a type of silk fiber produced by Ghorlectipods that could be used to make both suits and the fabric known as Ghorman twill. The material came from the Colonies planet Ghorman. In 382 BBY, prior to the wedding of Phan-tu Zenn and Xiri A'lbaran, royal family members of the planets Eiram and E'ronoh, respectively, the human Axel Greylark, son of Supreme Chancellor Kyong Greylark of the Galactic Republic, found that while he had been asleep in the Erasmus City Center on Eiram, a dark-blue Ghorman silk suit had been left for him, so he donned it. Forty billion ghorlectipods were housed in webberies across 9 provinces on Ghorman, where they spun enough fiber to process 60 million bolts of Ghorman twill every season. The tunic worn by Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine was made from Ghorman silk.
