Mon Calamari (language)

Mon Calamari was a language spoken by the sentient species of the same name native to the planet Mon Cala. It could also be spoken by humans. Around 230 BBY, Ghal Tarpfen, the Mon Calamari Head of Security of the Galactic Republic space station Starlight Beacon, had not heard the Mon Calamari language since she had departed her homeworld years before. However, after discovering she had been targeted for a blackmail attempt by the Nihil pirates, Tarpfen was ambushed by the traitorous Republic Senator Ghirra Starros, who spoke to Tarpfen in poor Mon Calamari, telling her she should have done what she was told before an associate of Starros knocked Tarpfen unconscious.
