Star Wars: The Acolyte, titled on-screen as The Acolyte, is a Star Wars television series developed by Leslye Headland for Disney+. Headland wrote, executive produced, and served as the series' showrunner. It takes place a century before the events of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, and focuses on the emergence of dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic Era. The Acolyte premiered on June 4, 2024, concluded its first season on July 16, 2024, and was reported as canceled on August 19, 2024, which was later confirmed by Disney executives.
