Elite stormtroopers were a new class of special forces stormtroopers founded by Darth Vader in the months after the Battle of Yavin. Darth Vader formed a special detachment of six such stormtroopers during the Sith Lord's vengeance campaign two months after the Battle of Yavin. These elite troopers acted as executors of Vader's wrath against those who betrayed the Empire.
