The Galactic News Service was a galaxy-wide reporting agency. From its beginnings during the time of the Galactic Republic, the agency survived both the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War, becoming the leading media company during the New Republic's reign.
As a youth, Voren Na'al worked for the agency as a reporter. While covering the swoop races on Corsin, Na'al witnessed first-hand Imperial cruelty, being imprisoned as the Empire subjugated the planet, replacing the existing government with one controlled by the New Order. This led Na'al to eventually join the Alliance to Restore the Republic as a historian. He would later reprise his role in the Galaxy News Service as a cover to bypass an Imperial Customs Frigate on his voyage to Tatooine following the Battle of Endor.
