Iltan clan

The Iltan clan was a clan on the Inner Rim planet Pijal. Decades before 40 BBY, the clan imported varactyls, a species of ridable creatures, from the planet Utapau to gain an advantage in Pijal's ceremonial Grand Hunt racing event. Over time, the local Pijali bred the varactyls into Pijal varactyls, an aerodynamic subspecies unique to Pijal. By 40 BBY, the lord regent Rael Averross had learned of the Iltan clan's original import.

At some point no earlier than 35 ABY, Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts' Director of Creature Cartography, Ardis San Tekka, mentioned the Iltan clan in her journal within an entry about varactyls.
