Jakku Imperial remnant

In the aftermath of the Galactic Civil War, a remnant of the Galactic Empire—located on the Outer Rim planet Jakku—refused to surrender despite the Empire's collapse after the Battle of Jakku. Rejecting the notion of defeat, the remnant kept fighting with New Republic Defense Force on the desert surface of Jakku. It took several months to subdue the Imperial holdouts on Jakku after the war ended, allowing the New Republic to estimate the death toll of the battle and its aftermath, at which point the remaining Imperial loyalists were either killed or captured by the New Republic.
