Project Phlutdroid

Project Phlutdroid was a project undertaken by Holowan Laboratories and Phlut Design Systems. The project was by the InterGalactic Banking Clan. It was active by the time of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems, which the Banking Clan actively supported with deployments of IG-series units. Under the project, Holowan actively produced IG-series droids with Banking Clan funding and created the IG-86 sentinel droid, such as the droid HELIOS-3D. Likewise, Phlut Design Systems created the IG lancer droid with Banking Clan funding.

After the end of the Clone Wars, the project continued its development. However, Phlut Design Systems would find itself going bankrupt, resulting in a total takeover of the project by Holowan Laboratories. with Holowan continued the project into the Imperial Era. According to legend, IG-88B was one of five identical IG-series assassin droids created by the Holowan Laboratories during the secret Imperial Project Phlutdroid. Project Phlutdroid was controversial in the galaxy at large as the actions of its products became known.
