The Republic Starfighter Corps was the starfighter corps of the Galactic Republic that was organized under the Republic Navy, although it was considered a separate fighting force. The Corps served as an independent branch until after the New Sith Wars, when the Republic Starfighter Corps was transferred to the Judicial Forces in accordance with the Ruusan Reformation. The Republic Starfighter Corps was restored as an independent branch in 22 BBY with the outbreak of the Clone Wars. However, after the establishment of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, the Starfighter Corps became subordinated to the requirements of the Imperial Navy.
