Imperial Algorithm XP27
Canon Linked from 3 articles
Imperial Algorithm XP27 was an algorithm used to manipulate the grades of human and non-human children in schools on the Core Worlds planet Talus to make humans appear superior as part of Imperial Planetary Governor Ili P'tan's plan to implement xenophobic educational reforms on Talus. As a result of the manipulation, as well as other changes made by P'tan, non-humans were seen as a drain on educational resources, which resulted in laws being passed to segregate humans and non-humans in schools.
Kavuss Boh, a Selonian who eventually became a professor at the Lerct Historical Institute, learned that her Imperial academic transcripts had been repeatedly altered by the algorithm to lower her test scores, preventing her from accessing higher education during the Empire's reign. A file on Imperial Algorithm XP27 was stored in the "Education" section of the Talus Archives, and was referenced by the historian Beaumont Kin in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire in 35 ABY.
