Malvil-tree

Malvil-trees were at least semi-sentient fungus trees native to the planet Xagobah. They had tendrils that they could move about and that could detect temperature and heat. They grew up to a hundred meters tall and could lived up to a thousand years. They produced the purple-black spore clouds that shrouded Xagobah. These spores were contained in globes that grew from the trees' stalk. Malvil-trees had a special symbiotic relationship with the Xamsters. They harvested the Malvils' spore-globes and used them as a camouflage agent. Organic life-forms couldn't see through the haze produced by the spores, and neither could droids. The spores reflected light too high on the spectrum for droids to register through their optics. They were able attack threats and imprint harmless beings so other trees wouldn't attack them. A known member of this species was Malubi who, along with the Xamster Xeran, encountered Boba Fett on the planet during the Clone Wars.

The Techno Union was responsible for bioengineering the trees to create the Mazariyan Citadel. The once gentle trees were perverted to kill things without feeding on them. They exploited their spores to camouflage their vessels such as Vulture droids and a ramship. When war came to Xagobah, the Malvils began to die due to neglect and loneliness.
