Synthleather

Synthleather also known as synth-leather, was a type of stiff leather used by the First Order to make boots and gloves. The leather's stiffness meant that boots supported good posture.

In 19 BBY, synthleather jackets with angular collars were worn by humanoid youths on Coruscant in what former Confederacy of Independent Systems operative Soujen Vak-Nhalis assumed was the latest fashion trend. By that time, speeder seats could also be made of synthleather, in one case producing an odor that Senator Mon Mothma judged to be "grossly artificial." Around then, Saw Gerrera also carried a rifle with cracked synthleather.
