Fort Sunfire

Fort Sunfire, or Bestine Compound was one of two major Galactic Empire Imperial military installations on Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War—the other being Fort Ironhand, near Anchorhead. The fort was located south of Bestine in the Desert Valley.

Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, the base was destroyed by a Rebel agent as part of operations on Tatooine. The destruction of Fort Sunfire started a contained conflict between Captain Kosh and the local Rebels.

The fort was rebuilt sometime before 3 ABY. In that year, Kay Vess and bounty hunter Vail Tormin infiltrated Fort Sunfire to find an Imperial file identifying a Zerek Besh spy in the palace of Jabba the Hutt.
