Cosmatanic Steppes gas giant

A gas giant was located in the Cosmatanic Steppes system within the Grohl sector of the Outer Rim Territories and the Slice. It was situated in grid square R-16 of the Standard Galactic Grid. The hyperspace route known as the Triellus Trade Route connected it to the celestial bodies Molavar and Tatooine. The gas giant planet lay in a system with at least three stars, and the Cosmatanic Steppes, a habitable layer of mantle, was suspended above the world.

The nature of the Cosmatanic Steppes made it the center of many archaeological digs as part of the historical art rush, with archaeologists attempting to determine the formation's nature and origin. While on the Cosmatanic Steppes in 0 ABY, at least one hundred years into the historical art rush, the rogue archaeologist Doctor Chelli Aphra explained the Steppes, its gas giant, and the archaeological effort, to the assassin droid 0-0-0.
