Kortatka was a planet in the Inner Rim Territories' Croynar sector which broke away from the Galactic Empire during the late Galactic Civil War. In response, it was targeted and purged by the loyalist 204th Imperial Fighter Wing in 5 ABY. After learning of the atrocity, New Republic General Hera Syndulla rerouted some of her forces to search for survivors there.
