Ma'a

Canon Linked from 7 articles

Ma'a was a terrestrial moon that orbited the gas giant Balagash in the Balagash system of the Expansion Region's Hali sector. It lay in grid square 0-9 of the Standard Galactic Grid in the Slice. A group of fierce warriors were from the moon. During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, which lasted from 22 BBY to 19 BBY, battles were fought on all seventeen of Balagash's moons, including Ma'a. At the end of the war, the Republic was reorganized into the Galactic Empire.

In 19 BBY, the Imperial Intelligence operative Haki Zeophrine accompanied Senator Bail Organa to Balagash's eighth moon, Balumbra, while the latter was investigating the Empire's framing of the Jedi Order for treason. On Balumbra, Zeophrine mentally noted that although it lacked the warriors of Ma'a and the moon Rhoremone's sapient gardens, it was the most defensible of Balagash's moons.
