Mackar

Mackar was a water world located in the Mackar system, a part of the Hewett sector in the New Territories portion of the Mid Rim. It was the homeworld of the Frid, a species of telepathic, fish-like aquatic sentients.

At some point five millennia before the Galactic Civil War, a series of cataclysms occurred on several water worlds throughout the galaxy, including Mackar. The catastrophes left the native inhabitants helpless until a group of spacefaring benefactors arrived and helped relocate the species of the affected worlds to the Mid Rim planet Iskalon, where the latter eventually formed the Iskalonian cultural group.

At some point during the reign of the New Republic, the Shi'ido anthropologist Doctor Hoole was studying the ruins of the Iskalonian homeworlds, including Mackar, to determine the nature of the cataclysms that occurred there and the identity of the Iskalonian benefactors.
