Sheris was an Outer Rim Territories planet located in the Belsmuth sector. During the Clone Wars, it was under the control of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, while a few years later, the Galactic Empire defeated a fleet of pirates and Mandalorians there. As part of the Empire's Grand Admiral Thrawn's campaign against the New Republic, an Imperial force advanced on Sheris, leading to a battle in the planet's Bhir'khi Pass.
