Harvap

The harvap was a non-sentient creature native to the planet Nim Drovis, though it spread throughout Hutt Space after the species was discovered and named by Jarn Harvus. Harvaps were originally carrion-eaters, though they later adapted by incorporating industrial waste and garbage into its diet as they became populous on heavily-industrialized worlds. They were especially numerous in Hutt Space, and the atmosphere of the planet Quesh led to the evolution of an exceptionally hardy variety of harvaps that were able to survive the poisonous atmosphere. One of their adaptations to assist with this was that their lungs contained specialized microbes that could filter radioactive gases.
