Phage

Phage were a non-sentient carnivorous species that existed in the galaxy. They could be found on the celestial body on which the sentient Phantidean species conducted their pilgrimage to the blue water. Phage hunted in packs and used their large stingers to bash at potential prey.

Phage, among other carnivorous beasts, were a known risk to the Phantideans during their desert journey to the blue water. Further, the Phantideans were pacifist. Therefore, the pilgrims were joined by Jedi to defend them from phage and other threats. When he was a Padawan, Stellan Gios assisted the pilgrimage, but during his first outing he was both unsuccessful in slaying any phage and got stung by one. Years later, the experienced Jedi Master Gios brought his own Padawan, Vernestra Rwoh to the pilgrimage. Though she too struggled significantly, she managed to slay one phage, earning her master's praise.
