Starmarks were a species of small bird that natively existed on the planet, Batuu. They could be distinguished by the white star shape in the feathers on their chests. Their calls could be heard within Black Spire from the nearby forests during the night. In the early hours of dawn, the night starmarks and pipa birds could be heard singing together.
Starmarks could be cooked as food, which was safe for humans to consume, but the locals preferred them well spiced.
