Vynock

Vynocks were non-sentient winged parasites with a large sucker like mouth, two black eyes, two legs and a tail. They were cousins of the legless, silicon-based mynock and were just as troublesome, posing a hazard to anyone traveling through space. Both species could be found on the surfaces of several worlds, but were allergic to helium, limiting where they could survive.

More often they were found on asteroids or within the belly of exogorths, with vynocks especially being found in environments where they can use their legs to grab on to the terrain. Vynocks were the basis of several spicy and exotic dishes enjoyed by carbon-based life forms, with some hunters specfically seeking out vynocks to keep restaurants in supply.
