Wingmaw

Wingmaws were a species of carnivorous flying creature that could be found on Ashla, the primary moon of the Deep Core planet Tython. They would feed by picking the flesh from the bones of already-deceased prey.

During the High Republic Era, after the Jedi Master Elzar Mann emerged from the ocean off Ashla's Isle of Seclusion after experiencing a Force vision, wingmaws circled in the sky above him as he lay on the shore. Though the creatures were ready to scavenge, Mann was not dead; the Jedi picked himself up and headed for his Vector to depart the moon.
