The Duros hyperspace trailblazer Gan Basso owned a starship in the early centuries after the founding of the Galactic Republic in 25,053 BBY. Basso used the starship to discover many new planets and star systems for the Republic, but a hasty jump to hyperspace led to the ship's destruction and Basso's death when the vessel collided with the sun of the Datar system.
