A flash charge was a device that, when activated, created a brief but intense blinding light, making it useful against enemies using weapon scopes. Din Djarin and Toro Calican used flash charges to help capture Fennec Shand on Tatooine in 9 ABY to throw off her aim from her thermal scope of her modified MK sniper rifle. One flash charge was later used by the Mandalorian to distract Calican after he betrayed him and held Grogu hostage. It also led Boba Fett to Fennec Shand.
