Pilot droid

Pilot droids, also known as driver droids or droid pilots, were droids used to pilot vehicles like starships or airspeeders. During the Clone Wars, the Separatist Alliance made extensive use of OOM pilot battle droids. During the Imperial Era, the RX-series pilot droids were used to fly the Star Commuter 2000 shuttles from Lothal. Another model was the FA-4 pilot droid, one of which piloted Count Dooku's own Punworcca 116-class interstellar sloop. L3-37 was Lando Calrissian's copilot when he owned the Millennium Falcon during the Galactic Empire's reign. She was a custom, self-created pilot droid. In 231 BBY, during the Valo Republic Fair, driver droids where used to transport Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh in an aircar.

AL-42 was one such droid model that had multiple limbs and served as a train operator droid on a repulsortrain operated by the Pyke Syndicate on Tatooine. Several of AL-42's model were on Plazir-15 in the droid cantina.
