The R2-Series5 astromech droid, or R2(S5), was a prototype astromech droid developed in the early years of the New Republic. An R2(S5) unit was gifted to the Hapan delegation during early negotiations with the Hapes Consortium by Princess Leia Organa. The droid was utilized by Prince Isolder aboard his personal Miy'til starfighter, Storm as the systems on the starfighter were too advanced for regular R2 units.
