Hapes Consortium

The Hapes Consortium, also known as just the Consortium, was a matriarchal monarchy of the near-Human Hapans in the Hapes Cluster, a closely packed star cluster located in the Inner Rim of the galaxy. Politically a consortium, it was based on Hapes and spanned 130 closely positioned star systems, each with at least one habited world and had existed since before 3000 BBY after the Lorell Raiders were wiped out by the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order.

The Hapes Consortium was one of the galaxy's few insular civilizations, and had undergone a long period of isolation, which caused several of its members to try to secede from the influence of Hapes, but they were quickly crushed. At one point, the Consortium encountered the Galactic Empire and was said to have fallen to them with some claiming that the actions of pacifists and diplomats had nearly ruined the Hapes Consortium, but it was believed that the Consortium were left to their own devices. Nevertheless, the Consortium was an independent affiliate of the Empire and there was a recorded border skirmish between the two in Andalia system during the Galactic Civil War.

Eventually they came into contact with both the New Republic and the Singing Mountain Clan of Dathomir and opened their borders to the rest of the galaxy.
