Variable geometry droid

Variable geometry droids were a model of pilot droid was utilized during the High Republic Era. The pilot droids had long and narrow heads as well as a pair of arms; when inactive, the droids retracted into cockpit seats. In 132 BBY, two such droids piloted a prison transport carrying a number of prisoners, including the meknek Osha Aniseya, to Coruscant. When the other prisoners planned to escape, the hybroid convict Rott Mercer remotely deactivated the pilot droids, causing the prison transport to fall out of hyperspace near Carlac.
