Unidentified Pkorian librarian

Canon Linked from 4 articles

An elderly Pkorian female worked as a librarian in a library on the planet Pkori and like other Pkorian women, wore a number of bracelets. Due to her age, she had enough to go up the length of both arms, making musical sounds as she moved.

Sometime between 19 BBY and 14 BBY, while bowing multiple times to both beings as if they were demigods, a local shepherd introduced the librarian to a newcomer from offworld: the Pkorian Inquisitor Iskat Akaris. As Akaris was unable to speak Pkorian, she was accompanied by the protocol droid 6-RA-7 to interpret her conversation with the librarian, who asked if she had come in search of her family. Akaris stated that she had reason to believe that her mother was named Feyra and the librarian was momentarily shocked when the droid translated, calling it magic.

After leading Akaris and 6-RA-7 to the appropriate bookshelf, the librarian performed a ritual dance and silent prayer, looking up at the ceiling, then took out a book and brought it to a wooden lectern for examination. Wearing gloves to protect the fragile text, the librarian located the Akaris family tree and read off the names Iskat and Feyra, noting that they had both been given up to the Jedi. When Akaris asked if her mother was on Pkori or at least had returned, the librarian told her that Feyra's fate was not recorded in the tree. She also answered the Inquisitor's question about paternal information, explaining that only the matrilineal bloodline was traced.

Angered by the lack of information, Akaris retorted that she needed more. The librarian sternly chided Akaris, telling her not to "insult the tree because the makani fruit is sour" and explaining that the Akaris matriarch was alive and might know more about Feyra, as the the family tree only logged births and deaths. When Akaris asked for directions, the librarian remarked that the Jedi had made her "stormy" and that she indeed should see her family again, adding that Akaris' matriarch might teach her manners. The Inquisitor was secretly angered by this comment and briefly contemplated killing the librarian and burning down the library but opted not to do so, deeming the librarian's information was more important than anything else. The librarian proceeded to draw a map for Akaris, who thanked her and went on her way.
