During the Clone Wars, between 22 BBY and 19 BBY, the Inner Rim planet Mirak Major was evacuated by the Galactic Republic under the leadership of General Gentis after the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Republic's adversary during the Clone Wars, triggered the sudden eruption of the planet's mega-volcanoes. Due to the actions of Gentis, six billion individuals were safely rescued from the calamity.
In 19 BBY, following the Clone Wars, valedictorian Laurita Tohm recollected Gentis' actions while on the Core Worlds planet Coruscant as he and hundreds of other Imperial officers listened to Headmaster Gentis as they graduated from their corresponding academies.
