Mega-volcano

Mega-volcanoes were a type of volcano that could be found on the Inner Rim planet Mirak Major. During the Clone Wars, which was fought between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and Galactic Republic between 22 BBY and 19 BBY, numerous mega-volcanoes were triggered on the planet by the Confederacy. The ensuing event prompted the evacuation of Mirak Major at the hands of Republic General Gentis, who was able to safely rescue a total of six billion people.

Following the end of the Clone Wars in 19 BBY, cadet and valedictorian Laurita Tohm recalled the actions of Gentis on Mirak Major involving the mega-volcanoes as the headmaster addressed him and hundreds of other Imperial officers as they graduated from their associated Imperial academies on the Core Worlds planet Coruscant.
