Second Battle of Geonosis

The Second Battle of Geonosis, also known as the invasion of Geonosis or second invasion of Geonosis, took place in 21 BBY during the Clone Wars on the planet Geonosis, which had also served as the site of the conflict's opening battle. The battle began when the Galactic Republic launched a full-scale planetary invasion of Geonosis in an attempt to cease the operation of several battle droid factories constructed by the Geonosian Archduke, Poggle the Lesser. Following a covert mission conducted by Senator Padmé Amidala to the planet Cato Neimoidia, the Republic managed to discover that the Confederacy of Independent Systems had constructed a series of droid factories on Geonosis, which led to the dispatch of a large Jedi-led invasion force from the Grand Army of the Republic to retake the planet and hinder the production of more battle droids.

Upon their arrival, the Jedi, tasked with forming a staging area for their assault, mounted a three-pronged attack on the Separatist forces under the command of Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Anakin Skywalker, who each led their respective forces to the landing site. Following their establishment of the landing zone, the Republic forces recuperated and managed to breach the deflector shield protecting the droid factories, allowing for additional clone trooper reinforcements to arrive.

Jedi General Luminara Unduli joined Anakin Skywalker for the final assault, staging a diversionary attack at the entrance to the foundry while Padawans Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee snuck inside the factory to destroy it from within. They succeeded, and the factory was demolished. Afterwards Unduli led the search for Poggle the Lesser, following him into the hive of Karina the Great, where Poggle was captured.
