The far galaxy, also spelled Far Galaxy, was a barred spiral galaxy that was one of trillions of galaxies in the observable universe and was distant from the galaxy of the New Republic. It contained the planet Peridea, home to the great Witch Kingdom of the Dathmiri, an ancient civilization, and the location of Grand Admiral Thrawn's exile. However, by then the galaxy was largely dead and barren, being wiped out by a war.
The other galaxy's planet Seatos had a henge that marked the Pathway to Peridea. Morgan Elsbeth, a follower of Thrawn and a Dathomiri Nightsister, built the interstellar hyperspace transport ring named the Eye of Sion to retrieve Thrawn and his stranded forces.
