Silk of the umbraspider

The silk of the umbraspider was a type of silk produced by the umbraspider that had unusual properties. The extraordinary material refracted and absorbed light in a way that made the spider's webs virtually invisible. The Sakiyan species of the planet Saki used the silk of the umbraspider to weave shadowsuits that made the wearer almost invisible except in bright light. After studying the properties of the fur of the Defel species, chemists working for the company Ayelixe/Krongbing Textiles synthesized a rival material called shadowsilk, but Sakiyans claimed that silk of the umbraspider was superior.
