Umbraspider

The umbraspider was a type of spider that produced silk with unusual properties, making the spider's webs virtually invisible due to how it refracted and absorbed light. The silk of the umbraspider was used by the Sakiyan species of the planet Saki to weave the shadowsuits that made the wearer almost invisible except in bright light. The chemists of Ayelixe/Krongbing Textiles synthesized a rival material called shadowsilk after studying the properties of the fur of the Defel species, but Sakiyans claimed that umbraspider silk was superior.
