Nagai rebellion

During the Imperial Era, a rebellion rose in response to the oppression of the Nagai across several systems. Members of the Nagai rebellion would commonly referr to themselves as "followers of Garlev", a smuggler who fought to escort Nagai out of slavery and later gained followers as the movement began. After the Battle of Jakku, Nagai slaves were being kidnapped from their homes and traded by pirates known as the Zantarrk Gang, and the Nagai rebellion fought against this. During the Fenril crisis, which the Zantarrk was a part of instigating as part of the Fenril Consortium, Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker came into contact with the Nagai Jesrit, and first heard about the rebellion, pledging his support.

Soon after, Skywalker, along with Han Solo, Beilert Valance, Rynn Zenat, and other New Republic heroes rescued rebellion member Marntiv and escorted him to Kaltrais. An insurrection had begun there, Nagai slaves led by Jesrit rising up against their Zantarrk captors– many of which were enslaved Nagai themselves. Leading the rebellion, Jesrit and Skywalker approached the Fenril Consortium's leader and talked her down from her violent plans, but this was short lived as, shortly after, the Anzati witch Reyna Oskure took control of the Consortium and its fleet and declared all-out war on the Nagai rebellion. Intent on freeing their homeworld, the Nagai's insurrection on Kaltrais succeeded with Skywalker's help, allowing them to steal many Pirrosi and Zantarrk vessels and head for Nagi. There, the battle continued as Zantarrk and Nagai faced off on the barren world while the Fenril fleet circled the planet. During the battle, a New Republic fleet arrived to aid the Nagai rebellion, at the sight of which, Oskure detonated her entire fleet.
