The Senate Planetary Intelligence Network, also known as the Senate Interplanetary Intelligence Network, or SPIN, was a intelligence service for the New Republic and was tasked with providing the New Republic Senate intelligence and analysis. It was founded in 4 ABY by Chief of State Mon Mothma and was headquartered in the Palace of the Woolamander on Yavin 4, and was under the direct control of the New Republic Provisional Council. However, the agency proved largely ineffective, though SPIN was able to conduct some operations against Trioculus, Mothma together with General Airen Cracken worked to form the New Republic Intelligence Service (NRI) to correct SPIN's failings. By the time the New Republic captured Coruscant, SPIN served little more than an outpost function. It was disbanded and its resources turned over to the NRI.
